Providing an Opportunity to Share Wisdom

The Benedictine Lay Associate Program provides an opportunity for Christian women and men of all ages to share the wisdom of St. Benedict.

Benedictine Lay Associates ordinarily live in their own homes and follow their own particular vocations, while also participating in the life of Saint Bede Monastery in an alternate mode of membership.

Opportunities to share in the life of the sisters include:

	learn about the Benedictine tradition
	join the sisters for prayers
	participate in community days, retreats and workshops
	work in community projects and ministries
	carry Benedictine values into daily life

Benedictine Lay Associates are expected to:

	live a Christian lifestyle
	engage in daily prayer and spiritual reading
	respond to the Gospel in service to others
	incorporate Benedictine values and ideals into their lives
	participate fully in the life of their own church
