We are a Community

Benedictine Chapel

We are a community of vowed women seeking God through prayer and work. We gather three times a day in our chapel for the Liturgy of the Hours, our time of common prayer.

We invite you to join us in these times of prayer as well as regular celebrations of the Eucharist.

Saint Bede

As Benedictine women, we work together as a community and in our individual ministries, seeking always to steward the gifts we have been given. Living as a community is an important aspect of Benedictine life. Sharing daily events such as meals, prayer, household chores and leisure-time activities forms the foundation of our life in community. Service in ministry is also an integral part of the day, as well as stewarding the gifts we have received.

Community Room

The community room at Saint Bede Monastery provides an important setting for many community gatherings, both casual time together and special occasions. Here we may share the joys and challenges of a day just ended or celebrate life's special moments.

Benedictine Sisters

Community life often centers around shared meals. Again, this may be breakfast with the early birds or festive gatherings of the entire community.

Monastic life also leaves room for solitude.
